How does the Spotter work?
Spotter determines the current location using the Global Positioning System (GPS). The highest GPS class is used for this, which ensures the most precision in positioning. These locations are then sent through Spotter’s SIM card to your on-line account, where you can view all the information. An internet connection is required to view your information. How can I attach/hand over the Spotter?
The Spotter is extremely compact (61 x 44 x 16 mm, weighing 35 gram) and can be carried along easily. The package includes an attachment ring + clip, allowing you to attach the Spotter.
Is the Spotter waterproof?
Yes, indeed. Spotter is water-resistant and dust-proof (IP66). Make sure that Spotter is not in contact with too much water (underwater for long periods of time).
What can I do with the Spotter? (functions)
Upon activation or extending the service, you use the following functionalities:
- Automatic location issuance
- SOS alarm
- Initiate telephone call
- Configure safety zone
- Receive messages/notifications

I want to create a new account.
- Go to the login page and click on “register”.
- Choose a user name and password and fill in the other information. Make sure you fill in the proper e-mail address; this is where e-mails will be sent for verification of your account.
- You will now get an e-mail with an activation link. Click on this link to activate your account.
- From this moment on, you can now login with your user name and password.
- When you first login, the account is empty. A page will then appear where you will be asked for the Spotter code so that the Spotter and your account can be linked to each other. Fill in the Spotter code that can be found on the blue card in the packaging.
- You will get a notification that the registration was successful.
- The Spotter is now ready for use!
I forgot my password.
Here is how you create a new password:
- Go to the login page and click on “forgot password”.
- Enter the user name or e-mail address for the account here.
- You will now see a notification that an e-mail will be sent.
- Open the e-mail and click on the link.
- Then configure a new password.
- Now return to the login page and login with the new password.
I can no longer login.
If you receive a notification that your user name and/or password are not correct, then the combination you entered is incorrect. In this case, look up the proper information or request a new password. You do this as follows:
- Go to the login page and click on “forgot password”.
- Enter the user name or e-mail address for the account here.
- You will now see a notification that an e-mail will be sent.
- Open the e-mail and click on the link.
- Then configure a new password.
- Now return to the login page and login with the new password.
What can I do with the Spotter App?
You can also check information while on the road using the Spotter App for smartphone and tablet. Nearly all the functionalities from the on-line account are also available on the app. The Spotter app runs on iOS and Android. Read more about the Spotter App here.
Why can’t I download the app?
Check to see whether the operating system on your mobile phone is supported by the Spotter App. If this is not the case, you can update the operating system and try installing the app once again.
The app is no longer working?
If the app once worked and then no longer did so, remove the app from the mobile telephone. Then reinstall the app on the telephone and login with your information.

How do I charge the Spotter?
You’ll find a USB charger and USB cable in the package. You use these to charge the Spotter. Upon first use, charge the Spotter completely in approximately 2-3 hours.
How do I know that the battery is (nearly) empty?
If the blue LED light on the Spotter is flashing quickly, this means of the battery has less than 15% of its charge left.
How long does the battery work for?
Maximum standby time is 7 days. When moving, the Spotter indicates its position every 60 seconds; when standing still, every 30 min. Lots of motion affects the Spotter’s battery life.
SOS button
There is an SOS button on the front of the Spotter. In the event of an emergency, you can push the SOS button on the front of the Spotter for 3 seconds. Push the SOS button on the front of the Spotter for 3 seconds. An audible signal will then go off and the green LED light will flash. The linked user will receive an SOS notice with the name of the Spotter and the location.
Speaker (tiny holes on the back).
Audio signals are sounded via the speakers on the back of the Spotter. When you conduct a telephone call, the sound also comes out of this speaker.
On/off button (left side of the Spotter).
Press the on/off button for 3 seconds. All the LED lights will then light up and the Spotter turns on. For the best reception, you should activate the Spotter outside or in the vicinity of a window. With sufficient GPS reception, the Spotter works both inside and outside.
To turn the Spotter off, press the on/off button in combination with the SOS button for 5 seconds. All the LED lights will then turn off.
Microphone (front of Spotter)
When conducting a telephone call, you communicate via the microphone on the front of the Spotter.
USB connector (leftside of Spotter)
You charge the Spotter using the USB connector and the USB charger delivered with the unit.
LED lights (leftside of Spotter)
There are 2 LED lights at the front of the Spotter. Below is an explanation of these LED lights:
Blue on | The Spotter is charging. |

Why am I not receiving any locations?
If the Spotter no longer issues locations, we recommend doing the following:
1. Check the battery.
Ensure that the Spotter has sufficient charge remaining. If the blue LED light is flashing quickly, this means of the battery has less than 15% of its charge left.
2. Check the GPS signal.
To determine location, it is important that the Spotter has a good GPS signal (blue LED). So check whether the signal is good using the diagram below.

If there is no good GPS signal, we recommend using the Spotter at another location so that the GPS signal can be picked up (preferably outside). Or turn off the Spotter and turn it on again at a location with a good GPS signal.
3. Check the GSM signal.
To send location information, it is important that the Spotter is receiving a good GSM signal (GPRS). So check whether the signal is good (green LED) using the diagram below.

If there is no good GSM signal, we recommend using the Spotter at another location so that the GSM signal can be picked up (preferably outside). Or turn off the Spotter and turn it on again at a location with a good GPS signal.

How can I top up? Also abroad?
The use of the Spotter is prepaid. If you want to top up the Spotter, click on “Top up” in your on-line account. Here, you can select from among credits of 1, 6 or 12 months, for which you pay on-line.
What if I don’t wish to use the Spotter functionality (temporarily)? Can I then top up later?
You need not top up immediately if the service terminates. You may choose not to use the Spotter for three months, for example, and then choose to top it up for one month. Usage is prepaid: you’re not tied to contracts or subscriptions.
How much does topping up cost?
When you activate the Spotter, you may use all the functionalities for one month at no charge. After this, you can top up the Spotter with a prepaid credit of 1, 6 or 12 months. You need not top up immediately if the service terminates. You may choose not to use the Spotter for three months, for example, and then choose to top it up for one month.

Does the Spotter work when I’m on vacation?
The Spotter GPS Tracker works throughout all of Europe at no additional charge. This means that you have coverage in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
Is the Spotter safe to use?
The Spotter is a safe and reliable GPS tracker equipped with CE marking, which means that this product satisfies the safety requirements imposed by all European Guidelines. Furthermore, the highest data security standard is used for secure data processing.
Can anyone else see where the Spotter is?
The information coming from the Spotter can only be viewed via the on-line account to which the Spotter is linked. This on-line account is accessible via a unique user name and password. This means that, when you link the Spotter to your account, only you can view the information.
What happens with my (location) information?
The information coming from the Spotter can only be viewed via the on-line account to which the Spotter is linked. This on-line account is accessible via a unique user name and password.
All of the data from the Spotter is sent by means of an encrypted VPN connection (Virtual Private Network) to the Spotter B.V. servers. These servers are hosted at a high-value data centre operating under ISO9001 / ISO14001 / ISO 27001 and NEN 7510 standards. This means that all the data is extremely secure and cannot be viewed by third parties. All of the data remains under the management of Spotter B.V. and will not be made available to third parties for commercial purposes.
Is my privacy safeguarded?
The user’s privacy is completely safeguarded. All of the data is sent by means of an encrypted VPN connection (Virtual Private Network) to the Spotter B.V. servers. These servers are hosted at a high-value data centre operating under ISO9001 / ISO14001 / ISO 27001 and NEN 7510 standards. In addition, location information is not linked to the personal information of the party carrying the Spotter or to the account manager’s information.
Does the Spotter generate radiation?
Spotter uses GPS (satellite) to determine location information and GPRS (mobile network) for sending this information. GPS is a receiver and does not generate damaging radiation. The use of GPRS is equivalent to the use of a mobile phone.
Do I always have a signal?
The operation of the Spotter depends partly on infrastructures such as GPS, a GSM connection and Internet connections that are outside the sphere of influence of Spotter. Spotter is not liable for the proper and uninterrupted functioning of these infrastructures and the peripheral equipment used or for stoppages or unavailability or malfunctions in its system, nor for any consequences arising from this.
What is the period of guarantee for the Spotter?
Your Spotter is given a one-year guarantee and has been developed and assembled with the greatest possible care. Should a problem nonetheless occur and you wish to make use of the guarantee, we recommend that you first go through the steps in “My Spotter isn’t working. What now?”
